So after all of my browsing and admiring and dreaming and drooling, I finally made my first Etsy purchase. It has been nearly a year since I first discovered Etsy (yes, I was late to the game) and in that time my obsession has grown. It is just too much fun to browse through the items--some beautiful, some quirky, some creepy, but all creative.
I intended to shop Etsy for my Christmas gifts, but in the end I made most of my own gifts for family members, and I shamefully admit I bought regular "big store" toys for the girls. So, the first Etsy purchase came a week ago, when I bought these:
Are they not the cutest little dolls? They're a birthday gift for our turning-five-tomorrow-year-old. I think she'll love playing with them. And even if she doesn't, I will.
The Etsy transaction was amazingly simple. The seller,
Gemmielou, was so, so friendly. I sent her a message (at like 9:00 at night) to see whether she thought they might arrive in time, and she responded within hours! I bought them the next morning, she shipped them that day and they arrived two days later. It was quick, easy and pleasant. Basically, it was a dream shopping experience.
Frankly, I feel lucky to have snatched them up when I did. As I returned to her store to write this post, I realized several of the different doll sets I was originally considering had already sold. Wow. These things are adorable and in demand. I feel very cutting edge.
