I tried some real-life shopping today at a few stores, partly because I wanted to get out of the house but partly because I still want (need!) a new summer purse. Even at the discount stores, everything I liked was at least $80.
Back to Etsy, where I found this:
I have been admiring this general shape for awhile, but I like how this purse uses the fabric on some sort of diagonal, so that you see the side fabric on the front, too. I've also found that I like most purses that use Amy Butler's fabrics. There's a cute
owl one, too.
I've also been noticing patchwork a lot lately. I'm not sure I'm a patchwork person, though. I think my style tends to be a little more simple and streamlined. But every now and then, I find a patchwork that I think I might be able to pull off.
These colors are very springy, and the patterns are a little more modern than a lot of patchwork I used to see. With the right outfit (white flowing dress, or some white capris, maybe), I think I could probably use this purse.
I really like the colors and embroidery in this one. It's called the Bean Bag, (because of the shape). It comes in a couple of different
colors and
sizes. This
etsy shop is clever; each bag has a different food name. There's a Broccoli Bag, with a funny upside down broccoli stalk shape. There's also a tube-shaped Carrot Bag and Pea Bag that's shaped a bit like a pea pod with three "peas" embroidered on the front.
The same seller has another
shop on Etsy, selling one of a kind purses, like this one:
